LUVRGRL
A young woman's dark descent into sexual addiction

DVD

Now available - director Lee Bennett Sobel's LUVRGRL, which concerns an 18 year old girl named Zoe whose life is torn apart by her spiraling sexual addiction. This important theme is being explored in an intensely emotional and dramatic way, in the style of BREAKING THE WAVES and MONSTER'S BALL. The screenplay has been written by Seattle-based Lorelei Shannon, giving a great deal of sensitivity to the female lead character. Attention was also taken to insure that the movie not be degrading to women and in fact carries a pro-female sexual empowerment message.

Having recovered from a nervous breakdown in high school and the death of her mother, 18 year old Zoé Ferrara starts her freshman year in college by burying herself in her studies and getting straight A’s. She soon finds herself reeling in emotional pain and looking for a way to numb herself. Her increasing obsession with sex spins out of control, putting her in jeopardy and threatening to ruin her life.

LUVRGRL's very modern yet emotive soundtrack features music by internationally acclaimed electro, synthpop and industrial bands, including London 86, Moulin Noir, Galvanized, Psyche, Neurepublik, Suture Seven, Somna M. Bulist, Legowelt, and others.
